How To Get Student Grant Money

The cost of paying for going to college is going through the roof and most families need help with paying tuition. Student Grant Money can help cut tuition cost down so people who couldn't afford to go college. There are Federal Grants available for students who meant the requirements. The Pell Grant is one of the most important federal grants that help low income student afford to go to college. The Academic Competitiveness Grant, also known as the AC Grant, is only for freshman and sophomore undergrad students that have excellent academic records and show leadership qualities. National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant, also known as the SMART grant, is like the AC grant but for junior and senior undergraduates.


For people who are the first in their family to go to college and come from a low income background there is the First In Family grants that both Sallie Mae and Coca Cola have available. There are a few colleges that specialize in helping minorities get Student Grant Money. African American women are a minority group that has one of the hardest time trying to get money for college. Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia is the only college that has always help the interested of African American women with giving out grants based on many factors like course of study, merit, and most often need. Agnes Scott College also in Atlanta has many grants and scholarships available but they are most famous for Goizueta Foundation Scholarship that helps Hispanic Women get the cost of tuition covered in full.

There are special Student Grant Money programs to help single mother be able to afford college. Raise the Nation is a non-profit that specifically helps single mothers. Their organization helps with grants for college and they also have a loan repayment program to help single mother who don't have enough income to repay their student loans.

The Women's Independence Scholarship is a Student Grant Money program specifically to help women who have suffered domestic violence to gain a foothold on their education.  There are many grants out there available to all demographics to try and help everyone afford to further their education.
